STOP MOTION ANIMATION!

this is my first attempt at using a programme called iStopmotion to create a stop motion animation.
Norman Maclaren was the creator or stop motion using humans. he inspired many different animators to expand on animation. Normans first animation was called 'Neighbours' using a stop motion technique called pixilation, it is around 8 minutes long and 1952 frames. The famous rock band Extreme used Neighbours as an inspiration for one of their music videos 'rest in piece'

The term pixilation was created by Grant monroe who worked with Maclaren on a previous animation he created called 'two bagatelles' Pixilation is a technique of stop motion animation using live actors taking photos frame by frame to create the illusion of moving pictures. This technique had been used often to blend live actors with animated ones, for example 'the secret adventures of Tom Thumb' and 'The Bolex brothers'.

The stop motion technique of pixilation is becoming more and more popular in this present day due a new social networking site called "vine". lots of young media students have begun bringing pixilation back using them on youtube and as advertisement.
